Goodnight, Moon ~ Margaret Wise Brown

Okay now, how many of us can recite this book by heart? For a long time, Goodnight Moon was THE bedtime book for Bee. There was only one, and this was it… until she started asking for other books, and I was happy to oblige (while at the same time sad that a tradition was ending). We were reorganizing Bee’s bookshelves tonight (sadly “retiring” some of her board books to make room for new books that will come at Christmastime), and she begged me to read Goodnight Moon to her. Snuggling up with her as we read (and I should note—although she was close to three when we stopped reading it together and she wasn’t very verbal then—she still amazed me with how she knew most of the pages word-for-word), it made me nostalgic. And Bee was delighted to spot The Runaway Bunny sitting atop of the bookcase on one of the pages!
